Tonka (in former times DJ Tonka), originating with civil name Thomas Gerlach and from Mainz, is a House DJ , producer and schoolmate of Ian Pooley. Admits became it 1998 by its summer hit "She Knows You", which reached 14th position in the Charts.
1997 he created his first label 'Uplifting records' , it however the 2000 gave up around the label Vivienne record to base, on which its newest productions are to be found. Its style is strongly coined/shaped by the music of the 80'er years, which reflect themselves in its music. Apart from its own productions Tonka can show also a considerable number of Remixen. After years he said good-bye to the contraction "DJ" and would like to be only called in the future Tonka, since according to its opinion the term of the DJs was watered by artists such as DJ Oetzi or DJ Federal Chancellor up to the indiscernibility.
