Blog Traffic - Which want you to use?

Blog Traffic - Which want you to use?
Digital Inspiration has a post on Getting Noticed by A-list bloggers vs Getting on Digg Front Page which makes a few worthwhile observations.

Digg Traffic - While Digg brings a rush of traffic - it does so from a site with a very broad focus in terms of topics. It also sends the traffic largely from a link with little context around it and in most cases a link that comes from a largely anonymous person.

Blog Traffic - Traffic from another blogger is different on a number of levels. While it might not come in the same numbers - it will generally come with commentary and context, from a site that usually has some sort of a single focus, from a person who has established some level of trust and/or profile with their readers.

Being a Good Open Source Software Citizen

photo by de* flickr.com/photos/dennisflax/: language floorfound on Ecplipse Corner Article:
"This session will be of benefit to anyone who makes a living with any product or service that uses F/OSS software. It provides analysis of why some F/OSS communities experience the "ecstasy of the commons" and how you can participate in their growth. It briefly covers things like newsgroups, blogging, mail lists and social networking, but focuses on the number one way developers build community: sharing code. It then expands into how developers can find unmet needs in the community and boost their own profile by doing so..."

EditGrid - web spreadsheet, collaboration & XSLT

EditGrid - web spreadsheet, collaboration & XSLTEditGrid is an online spreadsheet and collaboration service developed by Team and Concepts Limited in Hongkong.
As cliff commented about editgrid, it is robust and can be used for collaboration and imo, it's very nice to transform your data information in other formats, such as XML, KML, iCAL, RSS and so on... to share or link it to other services.

Example KML for Google Maps and Google Earth

Valery’s Spreadsheet: http://www.editgrid.com/user/valery35/Locations
XSLT Stylesheet: http://www.editgrid.com/doc/xslt/Locations.paths.kml.xsl
KML file: http://www.editgrid.com/doc/xslt/Locations.paths.kml
Here is what you get on Google Maps: http://maps.google.com/…/Locations.paths.kml
