I can imagine this will be a great year for Adobe Labs....

Share is their service for document sharing and management (Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 formats, Rich Text Format (RTF), Open Office formats, text, and PDF. HTML Adobe supported image formats: GIF, JPEG, BMP, PNG, Creative Suite file formats, SWF and Captivate formats and ZIP Folder.

Handout is a desktop application, made by Steven Gemmen aka InitApp from San Francisco, that allows you to drag and drop upload your documents to Adobe Share Web Service.

Then you can share the files and post the links immediately to Pownce or perhaps Twitter, which is not a chat ;)

Handout is a cool mashup and it adds a real-time, social networking aspect that currently does not exist in the official Share web application from Adobe.

Last year we posted about the public viewing of an online version of Photoshop. Now it is in beta and public for us.

The Photoshop web based application requires the Flash Player 9 and offers gallery and editing functions.
Before you start, you must load your picutre on an Adobe server. After registering Adobe will each user offer up to 2 GBytes of storage space. You can also export your picutre to facebook.

Sure, now there are many image processing web application around us, but have a look at adobe's step to their web based solution.

Adobe Systems gave a public viewing on october of an online version of Photoshop, its popular image-editing application.

"By late this year, we anticipate having a beta version," said John Loiacono, senior vice president for Adobe Creative Solutions and EX Sun Manager, speaking at the 6sight digital imaging conference here. And next year, the online service will be "available to anyone," he said.

Adobe is expected to incorporate the H.264 codec in all Flash players with the general release of Flash Player 9. You can already download a beta version from Adobe Labs. The H.264 codec is part of MPEG-4 and is the codec that Apple uses to compress all of the video downloads on iTunes. Once H.264 is part of Flash, the quality of streaming video on the Web will roughly double at current bandwidth speeds. That means YouTube videos will look twice as good—and those will likely remain on the low end in quality...

Compared to Microsoft Word 2007 or Pages ‘08, Buzzword is unimpressive and underpowered. However, compared to any Ajax word processor, Buzzword is a revelation. A web-enabled word processor that doesn’t limit you to the incredibly basic typographical engine used in the live HTML editing everyone else uses? Hey, that’s pretty neat. In fact, Buzzword’s text layout capabilities are pretty dang cool.

Jooce is a Luxembourg-based internet start-up with R&D operations in Paris. It is a new Flash-based WebOS and currently in private beta.

Jooce enables users to store, share and access their media and applications (such as email and IM) online. The company says that the 'cybercafe generation' is about 500 million people a day, so that is their target audience. Jooce has already received seed funding from Mangrove, initial investors in Skype.
