Feed your location to Fire Eagle to get what you want right now
Fire Eagle is a service, imho especially for mobile devices, that helps users share their location online with their friends and with other sites and services to get the right information just in time.... perhaps another iPhone application :)

Mickey from Google Earth Blog explains it as follow:
Yahoo has just launched their entry into the growing world of "track your location" sites with the release of Fire Eagle...
You can feed your location to Fire Eagle from your GPS unit, cell phone, laptop, etc, then their applications can use it for whatever task you give them permission for. [read on]

You can find some of favorite apps by exploring the Application Gallery!

Why you should use Windows Search 4.0 in an Enterprise Environment

Windows Search 4.0 has a number of new features and enhancements that can help IT professionals deploy and maintain desktop- and enterprise environment search.

Online E-Mail Indexing
Run Your Outlook Client in Exchange Cached Mode
if your mailbox is copied locally on the end user’s computer, Windows Search performs its indexing activities locally as well. This means the Exchange server isn’t burdened during either the initial or the incremental indexing.

Remote Queries
Windows Search 4.0 extends the ability to search across remote desktops.
eg. Querying from Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008

Support for Indexing Encrypted Files
WS4 supports indexing encrypted files on local file systems, allowing users to index and search the properties and contents of encrypted files

Mashup your own StreetView via Google API

According to James McGill
Street View in the API gives developers the power and control they need to embed this functionality in their own websites in whatever way they wish. The API allows you to embed one or multiple panoramas in any location on a site and move, remove, hide and unhide them as necessary.

» View Inline Demo

one feature is the ability to control the embedded viewer using Javascript functions on the GStreetviewPanorama object. The panTo function changes the current point of view by performing a smooth animation between the current and target view.

wikia search

Wikia is working to develop and popularize a freely licensed (open source) search engine. What you see here is our first alpha release.

We are aware that the quality of the search results is low..

Wikia's search engine concept is that of trusted user feedback from a community of users acting together in an open, transparent, public way. Of course, before we start, we have no user feedback data. So the results are pretty bad. But we expect them to improve rapidly in coming weeks, so please bookmark the site and return often.
